I love Lisp and S-expressions, but I also understand why so many hate the "))))" syndrome with a passion. I'm not affected because I use Paredit mode in Emacs but if you do not have it, keeping parenthesis balanced is painful.
Blame the entire programming world for making structural editing the exception and not the norm.
