Just so you all know, tonight the mama hen was calmly sitting on her 15 chickies when I went to check on them, and I very carefully stuck my hands into the warm cute peeping mass of floofiness and gently patted many tiny chicks, and after an incredibly exhausting day of yelling about space junk in a dozen different ways, that was *exactly* the recharge I needed.
