Looking at the exit polls of the 2020 election and one point stands out quite a bit: Catholics were more likely to vote dems than Protestant or other Christians. And by a significant amount: 52% vs 39%.
Rationally it completely checks out, but here in Germany, or at least where I grew up, Catholics are considered the more conservative ones.
