Then, one day, when it was time for confession, I told them I didn't have anything to confess and they got upset with me.
I told them I would be lying if I made up a sin to confess just for the sake of the right, and it doesn't matter because if I sinned afterwards, I could simply talk to God about it myself.
They did NOT like that at all.
I had recently had a dream in which Jesus and Mary came to me and all the adults had been acting like I was special - until I said I didn't need a Priest to intercede with God for me. Then I was disobedient.
