Sometimes I have a missing avatar from a person in my feed.
Not someone I follow, but rather from someone a person I follow have boosted.
When this happens, I can go to the web interface and paste "https://example.com/@theusername"; in the search box, and my instance will fetch the missing avatar.
It seems Mastodon could do a better job here at retrying to fetch missing avatars.
