A theory for why Protestants and especially Evangelical movements are calling Jesus "Yeshua" is because they lack ecclesiastical language in their services, and they really want it so bad.
EO has Greek, Catholics have latin, and (to a much lesser degree), Lutherans have latin as well as German language services, so the practice doesn't happen in those denominations.
