It's turning into an employment pipeline.
You come here, vomit up some code and self-market to get attention, apply for a grant, get your grant, done. When the grant runs out, you threaten to stop working, grant is resumed or you abandon the repo and walk away.
This is not a system that will attract the sort of people who are willing to take risks, going forward. It wasn't a problem, before, because the grants were going to people who were building before the grants arrived.
But now grants are priced in to the decision to start building.
