some reply-guys who want to prove you wrong will still reply without making an attempt. instead, they'll tell you to explain your reasoning in more detail, and that's it. they don't present any actual counterarguments, they just kind of demand that you explain yourself in greater depth.
and it's always for the same reason. they want to prove you wrong—but they can't. there's no angle, because you're actually making perfect sense. so they need you to talk a lot more, and then maybe you'll evidently
accidentally give them something they can attack.
and if you do, and they find something, they'll argue against that thing and act like your whole point is false, even if their point is absolutely inconsequential in reality.
out of all the reply-guys, I think these ones are among the most embarrassing.
