laanwj (npub1p23…rnl6) from your long and dedicated years in this space, do you believe that bitcoin is only not sticky enough because the old communities sit on the gold while doing the bare minimum to develop the technology to themselves while ensuring they hold the absolute monopoly? i know of discord servers with over a decade of age with all the senior bitcoin-involved devs in brazil that never get above a threshold number of users because they keep ostracizing minorities, women, etc., and brazil is absolutely doomed in that sense. trying to save satoshi alone has logically taken a mental health toll that makes it seem like I am the delusional, incompetent one at times (learn more at https://biohazel.github.io ). too many selfish, evil, narcissistic commercial interests are percolating the broader open source landscape outside from the core's and sponsor's eyes, and the window keeps closing more and more for bitcoin and for brazil itself. i have until december with my hrf grant to do something of substance to fix brazil and prove that bitcoin development education can be truly permissionless and decentralized, especially when it comes to nurturing and distributing funds to students and jr. developers and projects oriented towards the inclusion of minorities. there is a dangerous monopoly going on here, myself and my project (scalar school) are suffering defamation and chronic embargo/suppresion since the day the grant was announced at bitcoin magazine, and everyone is distracted by the wolves in sheep's clothes judging that i am just a yapping skill-issued anon 😭 yet I refuse not to believe that we can lean towards a family-friendly, community-oriented happy ending for the new sprouts of bitcoin development, nurturing the next generation of bitcoin builders to be decent and inclusive
quoting note15d2…eu8jif a company has been funding and promoting members of an organized hate group that suppresses legitimate, well-intentioned individuals and groups, isn’t it the right of an aware citizen to publicly call for the company to be defunded, at least from those same sources? it seems absolutely natural, legitimate, and in defense of Bitcoin itself
