I’d wondered about why it’s so common for human body temperature readings now to be below 98.6 (I often can’t break 98 unless really sick)…and it’s because the numbers that were used to make the original 98.6 figure were from a time when people were constantly infected with TB and other illnesses that are now much better controlled and less common. Their bodies were inflamed as hell.
