Forgot to give the update on our Star Trek Adventures game last week.

Following the wizard of Oz plot parallel, imagine for a moment: Dorothy, after being given her quest by the wizard, becomes deeply suspicious. Too many people around her know way too much more than they're saying, and she's not about to be anyone's patsy. So she runs silent and takes her companions straight back to munchkin land to interrogate Glinda with the full intention of making her spill the tea on the wizard, the wicked witch, the shoes, all of it. Since Dorothy has gone stealth, Glinda is happy to give up details now that she knows nobody else is listening.

In this story, Glinda is being played by Admiral Shrek of Starfleet Intelligence. The munchkins are a colony of Vaadwaur refugees. The "wizard" and emerald city are a sapient algae blob living in a crystal tube palace. The magic shoes are a series of pre-borg artifacts strewn across several planets in the heart of a region of space long ago used up and abandoned by ancient borg. All of the planets for lightyears in any direction are wastelands of pollution except for a small string of star systems in the very center.

The admiral has revealed that they were following a tip about rogue Sec31 agent Luther Sloane. He's created an army of spies by cloning himself, and built a ship that can teleport itself in ways we don't yet understand. (*Cough* spore drive *cough*) Icing on the cake, the tip came from *one of the clones* who doesn't want the original Sloane to get his hands on the artifacts.

Will our heroes solve the mystery of the artifacts? How has this string of worlds been left unassimilated? Why is a clone of Luther Sloane betraying him? Could this journey somehow lead to discovering the origins of the Borg? Even if all these questions are answered, how will our heroes ever make it back to the alpha quadrant to do anything about it?

Find out next week!
