What do y’all do with your zaps?
Most of the time, I zap probably about equal to what I get zapped unless I produced some sort of higher quality content that gets a lot more.
I personally, treat lightning zaps as “fun money” and everything in cold storage or on-chain as “serious money”.
When my lightning wallet goes up from zaps, I do not stack those sats.
Those go directly back into the nostrsphere either by purchasing a product (e.g., my nostr.build account, damus subscription, or merch/art from other nostr users). The rest, I zap to the devs of projects I use or to artists I want to support.
BUT, since I treat all lightning transactions as “fun money”, SOMETIMES I zap out more than I get and therefore need more sats in the wallet. When this happens, I ask my husband to send me some sats, but then…I’m kind of mooching off of his stack, which isn’t ideal and dips into the “serious money” we’re supposed to be just holding.
I think this means I am not bringing enough value (I’m super inconsistent with content) to the space and am more of a value-enjoyer than producer.
An ongoing theme with bitcoiners is to stack and hold on for dear life, but I enjoy participating in the nostr/zap ecosystem too much.
