Okay jmp.chat sounds cool but I wonder how hard it would be to write a Matrix bridge that runs on a smartphone and proxies SMS messages and phone calls to a matrix server
That way you'd get basically the same functionality as jmp.chat but without needing to port your number to a VOIP service that may or may not exist next year
