I decided to try, swapping the SATA cables with the other drive in the server, and re-ran the smartctl tests. They all passed fine now. And the other drive now won't pass a smartctl test correctly. Root cause discovered, and I replaced the offending SATA cable. Weird for this to just pop up out of nowhere after years of trouble-free operation. 2/2
