Not totally sure what you mean? I think machines, the Internet, social media, AI, have the potential to destroy us by taking away the ability to find meaning. Confound our bullshit detectors so we can't tell truth from lies. Replace enough trades that people have found meaningful so we either starve or depend on some kind of dole. That will cause a rise in nihilism, people won't have children, they'll commit suicide, they'll shoot up schools and take a lot of others with them.
