But I think allowing taxes to be paid in bitcoin is a trojan horse of sorts. If anyone can use it for taxes, anyone will accept it as payment — it would immediately have a universal use case for Americans, and every corporation in the world that does business with Americans.
Moreover, every bitcoiner who pays taxes can buy it just for that purpose — talking about billions in new demand. The state might sell it back, but then again it might not.
