Sure, I would love it to happen differently. For people to do their own research and start with self custody and p2p buying and selling.

But the way the world works is that most people will accept a service from a provider that they already know and trust. For most people right now that is a bank. The extra trust needed to buy Bitcoin from the bank that holds your fiat savings is small. Learning to use a different provider and trusting a new system is hard work.
