I'm guessing the immunotherapy is covered by Medicare part A or B vs being covered as a prescription drug?
On a slight tangent about how Medicare costs are lower than private insurance, I just started taking an expensive drug. It's not fully covered by Medicare Part D, but recent changes have capped the yearly out-of-pocket costs.
The max out of pocket for 2025 is $2000. That's not cheap, but it's so much less than it was under the older system.
