yeah, I was actually a bit surprised at the author’s relative optimism around copilots, given one of the central points around the importance of lifetime ownership costs. This is mentioned as a risk, but still ends with optimism. Seems like this is something yet to really be demonstrated and as you point there’s some evidence showing the contrary. But management so often is swayed by how fast new features can be cranked out, this could keep maintenance devs employed for years
