In order to operate a store, Autozone needs employees. The employees work in the store and are paid a wage which is far, far less than the value they create for the corporation. I don't know what percentage they're paid by Autozone, but here's a well-known example of a pizza restaurant owner who gave all the receipts for one single day to his employees and they ended up getting $78 per hour. Certainly Autozone is in that ballpark. Most of the money you spend at Autozone isn't going to the employees who actually do the work necessary to supply you with auto parts.
