Are any companies actively working on enabling BTC holders to make payments to fiat merchants without merchants needing to onboard BTC infrastructure? In other words, take for example Bill Pay by strike, while that is an ACH transfer, essentially strike on the backend will auto convert your BTC balance to fiat to satisfy the transfer, the receiver never even knows the payment is derived from BTC.
Can we not enable this in an apple wallet like fashion, where I can pay on traditional rails to a POS but the auto convert happens on the backend without the merchant knowing? I don’t want to buy gift cards and/or presell btc to load onto a debit card before purchase.
I know strike circles around this by using credit cards for payment and bill-paying those at the end of every month, but if we just stop there I think we are stopping short.
