Depends how they work. If they’re tied to a specific device/dongle, they’re broken. They might be convenient, but they are less recoverable.
Eg: in the past five years, my online banking has become locked to my phone (have to generate a phone key to do anything much even on a browser) but also over that time my phone app has become less secure: first no special characters and then a numeric-only six-digit code. It is literally impossible for me to have a secure password for my online banking.
