The same thing happened to Marketplace that happened to eBay: overrun with Chinese knockoffs and a search engine that actively thwarts a user from finding the genuine things that they're looking for.
The best part of all the knockoffs is you get letter-salad brand-names, because that's how they game the system to get their shit into the Marketplace (in addition to all the faux-reviews to obscure the fact that the items are absolute garbage).
Recently, I bought something that had like 4.8 stars with 500+ reviews. The item was garbage. When I went back and re-read the reviews, all of the 4- and 5-star ratings were now marked as having been left by "Vine" users while all the 1- and 2-star ratings were marked as having been left by verified purchasers. I mean, kudos that they're doing that, but, they probably need to weight the stars from the two sources (because, frankly, someone that didn't have to pay for something are always going to be more-charitable than reviews from people that actually laid out good money for something). Not that there haven't been rating-gaming schemes used to snag the "verified purchaser" reviews.
