I hear people talk about keeping kids off of social media and away from phones as long as possible, but what about adults? Why not set up an example for kids?
I know some parents where one of the two might ditch all big social media, but I can understand it can be difficult if all school stuff and things with other parents come through it. Still, if both parents are off social media, and keep their phones minimal (or go the extra step and to Google/Apple free phones), wouldn't it build more community as you'd then depend on direct text messages from other parents to stay in the loop about events? Other parents would also have to interact with people who have different perspectives from not being on the same parts of the Interwebs.
I hate this notion that big tech social media is bad for kids and okay for adults. Its' really bad for both.
