My kids are like "is making a quiche hard", and it's a difficult question to answer.

My answer was along the lines of:

It's hard if you don't know the various techniques before you follow a recipe.

It may seem like a lot of cooking is like this, but I don't feel so. There's certain dishes, like souffle, maki rolls, etc, that are very very simple recipes, but the application of it requires experience and knowledge beyond what can be described in a recipe
