I feel obligated to mention that comparison is the only way we can see if we're treated well or not (both historically and sociologically). It's directly tied to our dignity.

Usually when I encounter someone saying you shouldn't compare, it's by some US citizen trying to justify inequality (in world, in their community, or in their personal life). I feel a much better alternative is to talk to your compatriots, and then claim the streets.
