I saw a specialist doctor last week and we spoke about the election for a bit. He knows I’m American. He worked in San Francisco at the height of the AIDS epidemic and we share some personal interests overall, I respect him very much.

At the end of our conversation I don’t think I’ll ever forget the look on his face as he said, “Whatever happens on Tuesday, it will be historic either way. America will shift us all into a legacy one way or another.”

That felt really wise and pointed.
