Most of the innocents murdered under this pretence were not jewish (AFAIK). Superstition and suspicion abound among dumb people, including us today. It just takes different forms. Although, I do believe there has been a genuine effort, despite occurring during the jewish ascendancy, to curtail this kind of retarded behaviour and consider things more deliberately and carefully.
