There are no "morals" in business, especially if you have an investor in it- the business of an investor is to make more money, and we saw with Twitter, if someone comes around and makes a big offer, Bluesky will be sold, regardless of whether the buyer is Musk, Putin, or Lrrr from Omicron Persei 8.

Thus, if you want to have peace of mind, the only option is a federated solution where you can run your own server, i.e., where the network is the protocol. If someone takes over mastodon.social, people can move to any other instance without a problem, moving their follows/followers. But this aint, and will never be, an option on corpo-network such as Twitter or Bluesky or Threads.

So, yeah, have many accounts on various different Fedi instances - and if you want, have an account on BSky, Threads, etc, as well, but don't ever rely on a single corpo-network ever again.
