I've seen the new rules, they're still *worse rules* than 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6. I don't care if you buy their products, you could just be playing better versions of the games. I play a lot of 4e with 3.5 dexes and run a little community for it locally. The fiction, scale, it's all become sludge IMO.
Also competitive play is a directly inferior form of the game that should not exist. It's a bunch of LCD grogs with netlists trying to make the other person lose as quickly as possible. Why would you ever when you could write a narrative campaign with fun rules and unique missions?
