The small Wairarapa hapū of Ngāti Kahukuraawhitia had a dream in 2021 to buy back land in their rohe. Iwi throughout the Wairarapa had been alienated from much of their land since the 1800s. But Amber Craig and her whānau including her husband Tukotahi Phillips and cousin Sheree Dewbery, decided to turn to social media and started a GiveALittle Fund to buy a piece of land near the Waiohine River, Greytown.
