I can definitely see that. (Though, I'd argue, if used currently it can be a damn useful tool. The problem is that it is often used poorly and results in terrible conclusions!)

Me, on the other hand, fell for economics hard and believed in it far, far too much. Took me a good long while to finally start breaking out of the mainstream nonsense and get back to the real world. I will say there are a lot of tools economics offers that can be used for good, but I may be biased ;)
