I think that is a genetically-coded thing, a gene switched on or off? The people to whom that applies are not the ones worrying over the latest studies, I imagine.
Everyday reality should not be intolerable, but no one is granting wishes. Any people that try to reverse-engineer feelings of thriving by selling shit to the desperate are not competent, it is obvious by now. Purpose and community cannot be replaced by temporary warm numbness.
