I wouldn't know where today's sexology is at right now, but what you say wouldn't surprise me in the least.
In the early 80s, I knew a woman who was studying in sexology at uni, and the way she talked about her classes and all, it sounded to me like just an excuse to hold orgies and frolic around with as many people as possible at the same time. Gay men in the class even had a go at women... š
