The crisis in the justice system is getting so bad that for many solicitors it is uneconomic to provide representation on certain crimes as the Legal Aid payments do not cover the costs of providing legal advice & support.
Its no use having a legal right to representation that can't be actually exercised because solicitors cannot afford to provide it.
As with so much of British social infrastructure, we are slowly returning to the society of C19th!
