Yeah I think it was about 8 years. The last two Godzilla films, Shin Godzilla and Minus One, have been absolute cash cows for Toho. I haven't seen Minus One yet, but Shin Godzilla was absolutely fantastic. Hideaki Anno's direction and vision was spot on for the character, and while he took some risks with the monster design, etc, I think it paid off well. Modern techniques, but leaning into the "cheese" of the man-in-a-suit era in a respectful homage to the history of Godzilla.
