It's going to get much, much worse. Even average people on the street, with no economic education are beginning to figuring out the time-value of money.
The currency-velocity shoots up and makes the economy look great for a short while, but it's a temporary high. Eventually, everyone runs out of money... both the spenders and the savers are crashed.
