I tried playing Control with umu-launcher, and it's actually much smoother than wine-ge on high settings. I'm getting an annoying graphics bug though: every so often a pixel turns black, then the blackness spreads out and covers the entire screen and I need to set volumetric lighting to medium to remove it - possibly a nan propagating through framebuffer effects and taa. idk if it's a proton issue.
