Overheard 2 kids talking "boys used to get special treatment, and that was sexist, but now girls get special treatment and boys don't and so that's also sexist"
Me: "If I gave your buddy a cake today, but I didn't give you one, is that fair?"
Them :"No that's not fair"
Me:"ok, so tomorrow if I gave you a cake and not your buddy, would that make it fair?"
Them:"Yes"
Me:"would it still be fair if I told you to share half your cake with your buddy?"
Them:"No, that would suck"
Me:"So if we make sure girls get a turn at stuff they used to be excluded from, that's just fair, it's not sexist. We're smart enough to understand 'taking turns' as well as 'everyone gets the same thing at the same time' are both ways of sharing, and sometimes one is fairer than the other."
Them:"Oh yeah"
