After reflecting, these are my thoughts on Trump’s #Bitcoin2024 speech.
1. Historic, regardless of the outcome.
2. Too much of his speech revolved around Biden.
3. Strategic reserves sound bullish for the US, but it’s all speculation until it happens.
4. Fire Gensler, free Ulbricht, hodl, and make the US the bitcoin-friendliest place on earth…
He knows the right buzzwords and how to use them in front of a Bitcoin audience. He compares Bitcoiners to revolutionaries like Edison or the Wright brothers. Although flattering, actions speak louder than words; let’s see if he follows through. Trump definitely has people on his team that are orange-pilled, but that doesn’t mean he is.
Most irritating was his closing sentence, which speaks for itself:
“Have a good time with your bitcoin, your crypto, and everything else that you’re playing with.”
I’m not convinced that Trump understands or cares about Bitcoin on a deep level. But he does care (DEEPLY) about his votes…
Kennedy seems more sincere when it comes to Bitcoin, although the 4 million BTC purchasing plan feels like a stretch.
One thing’s for sure: Democrats will have to adapt and change their stance on Bitcoin. And Bitcoin is moving into the center of politics. The beauty is, Bitcoin doesn’t bend to politics; politics bends to Bitcoin.
In my opinion, that’s the only guaranteed outcome of the entire conference. And if that’s the only thing, it’s still good for #Bitcoin.
