I think when you want to understand if someone is an abuser or not in our circles, the thing not to do is harrass folks to back up your fave.

What I'd say to do is research all those times they left a place and blamed "circumstances" or "enemies".

When it's always someone's fault, not theirs.

Look for the debris, look for the damage they left behind.

It's a bit like finding a black hole, you can't observe directly. But you can see the debris swirling around it.
