We evolved to process info in a decentralized social media model, but a lot slower. The few people we knew told us what they knew. We passed on the best stuff. We were mostly equal nodes in the network. Nobody could reach millions, much less be trusted by them. I bet our critical thinking skills were better then, but atrophied. They are growing back. It's only those who have concentrated a historically abnormal amount of influence that should fear this change.
