I bought ETH on Coinbase, converted it to ETH2 and staked it for a few % APR.
Because it was "locked" in that form until the ETH merge, it could not be sold or converted, so Coinbase offers a wrapping service that allows it to be disposed off of you want to. The exchange rate for ETH2 to wrapped ETH fluctuates based on demand, but yesterday the rate wasn't bad.
I lost a few bucks on the wrapping, but in that form, I was able to do the conversion to BTC.
