My #GameGear project is nearing completion! Got everything put back together on my lunch break yesterday, and the system mostly works. Some games fire up right away, while others need to be reseated multiple times before they start working correctly (and even then, sometimes it takes a couple on/off cycles to get them working). I'm worried there might be something wrong with the cartridge reader, so figuring out how to test that is my next priority.

Once I figure out that last issue (is it the games? the console? both?) I'll look into cleaning up the exterior of the console a bit more. I'm really happy with the LCD, but there's not much point if the screen cover is all scuffed up! I do have some polishing gel which I've used to get out similar scratches before, but it may be better to just swap out the cover if there are good quality aftermarket replacement available.
