Today is my 8th heartiversary! I waited only 2.5 days for a heart (the winter holidays are, alas, the part of the year that produces the most donors), the surgery took 3 hours and 40 minutes (fast!), and I was out of the hospital 11 days later. I've had no episodes of rejection, no hospitalizations, no serious problems since. Go me! And go Johns Hopkins heart transplant team!
