I bought a big bottle of 325mg aspirin for a little under five bucks. that works out to roughly a dollar an ounce for the drug itself, plus the bottle and filler.
I imagine cocaine and heroin, at least, aren't any more difficult to manufacture than aspirin. I dunno much about meth. This means, if they were legal, an ounce of pure dope or coke could be sold profitably for a dollar.
Nutmeg is roughly two dollars an ounce. It's the seeds from a tree that grows on the other side of the world. I bet you could comfortably pay Americans a living wage to grow pot and make plenty of money selling it at five bucks an ounce.
No prices have any connection to the cost of production any more, but this is freaking absurd.
