My worry this whole time is that if I generate kind-1111 replies, half of my audience won't see them. If I reply with kind-1, half of my audience will see those replies as root posts. I have no way out. I'm not considering your post an attack, it is just the thing that woke me up to the situation again.
The only fix at this point is for everybody to implement NIP-22.
