I do think that if we had incentives to become adults, to save up and buy our own homes, to contribute to the community which would have given to us... that we would behave like adults. It used to be trendy to be well-dressed when walking the streets.

Incentives matter, especially now when we are exposed to so much advertisement which has gotten better at targeting our brains to make us feel that we're missing out if we don't have something. Or targeting what comforted us in our childhood. You remember this thing? You need this thing to feel happy. Buy our things. Get excited for next thing. Consume and repeat. It is your duty for the economy!

Our governments hold us in contempt. They aren't even pretending that they care about the native people, the working class. They aren't keeping us safe from crime or securing the border, they aren't doing their job to maintain the roads and infrastructure, they aren't letting us defend ourselves, they have fucked up the economy, the job market and education sector. They have given up on freedom so it is harder to speak our minds. Community and trust has largely eroded. I think the younger generations are fucked now.
