Also today the CDC announced the first case of an American in Louisiana with a life threatening H5N1 infection traced to wild birds.The CDC is still claiming the pandemic risk is low because this case is believed to have come from wild animals instead of human to human transmission.
I'm not sure I share their optimism as they have only completed partial generic sequencing of this case.
