There is a movie of the 1936 Olympics called Olympia. It's basically the prehistory of televised sports. They had all the technical tricks: slow motion, underwater cameras for divers, multiple sound channels and crossfading between announcers and crowd noise, tracking cameras for races. Aside from being black and white, it's up to modern technical standards for sports coverage.
There was also actual television of the Olympics, and you could go to a public viewing room to watch.
